Create Charts from a Table
This function converts fields in an attribute table into visual charts for comparison analysis, trend analysis, and statistical reporting.
Select a Data Source
Before creating a chart, select the data range in the attribute table. Two methods are supported:
- Click Select all on the table tab bar to select all features and all fields.
- In the attribute table, drag with the left mouse button to select the required rows and columns.
Create a Chart
Click Create Chart on the tab bar. The system generates a default chart from the currently selected data.
- The default chart is usually a bar chart. The actual default depends on the current product version.
- Numeric fields are preferred as statistical series.
- The horizontal axis uses a feature identifier field, such as ID, or the current category field by default.
Set Chart Style
Open the chart menu from the upper-right corner of the chart to access chart settings.
Edit Chart
Edit Chart is used to adjust chart type, field mapping, and visual style.
-
Chart type: Used to represent statistical relationships such as comparison, trend, composition, and distribution.
- Column chart: Grouped, stacked, and 100% stacked.
- Bar chart: Grouped, stacked, and 100% stacked.
- Pie chart: Pie and doughnut.
- Line chart: Line.
- Scatter chart: Scatter and bubble.
- Area chart: Area, stacked, and 100% stacked.
- Polar chart: Radar line, radar area, rose, radial column, and radial bar.
- Statistical chart: Box plot, histogram, range bar, and range area.
- Hierarchical chart: Tree map and sunburst.
- Specialized chart: Heatmap and waterfall.
- Combo chart: Column and line, area and column.
-
Chart style: Quickly switch preset themes, colors, and visual styles.
-
Chart XY axis settings: Configure the X-axis category field and Y-axis statistical field.
-
Chart plot area: Set plot area properties such as title, font, color, font size, and padding.
-
Legend: Set legend position, font, color, size, and related properties.
-
Series: Set style properties such as series border, labels, and shadow.
-
Horizontal axis and vertical axis: Set axis position, color, gridlines, tick marks, and related properties.
Advanced Settings
- Navigator: Provides an overview of the full dataset and helps you quickly locate a local interval.
- Zoom: Dynamically adjusts the display range of the plot area.
- Animation: Shows chart changes with smooth transitions.
- Crosshair: Displays cross-reference lines when the pointer hovers over the chart to help read coordinate values.
Unlink from Grid
Separates the chart from its linked source data grid. After unlinking, the chart can be moved, resized, and styled independently, and it no longer updates synchronously with the grid.
Download Chart
Export the current chart as an independent file for local storage, sharing, or use in reports.
Notes
- Prefer numeric fields as statistical fields to avoid calculation failures or empty charts.
- The selected data range directly affects chart results. Confirm that the selected rows and columns are correct before creating the chart.
- For large datasets, filter the data before charting to improve interaction performance.
